Faced with rising fuel prices, the executive is considering new aid which could be more limited this time.

The price of fuel is at record highs and the French are increasingly unhappy. The government wants to put in place more targeted aid to combat inflation at the pump. After the inflation check, this aid would target the French forced to take their car to go to work. Guillaume Daret, live from Matignon (Paris), Tuesday, January 25 brings us its details.

“The objective of the government is to address these French people who have no other choice but to take the car to go to work, for example the liberal nurses”, he explains. Aid will also target those who do not have “not entitled to inflation compensation”, he continues. Behind that, there is a political issue, according to Guillaume Daret. “It helps to touch the hearts of the middle classes. And this is extremely important three months before the presidential election”, he reports.
