Frustration and repair | The duty

I understand that there are laws and processes governing immigration. I understand that at the moment, Quebec is grappling with certain situations that are difficult to resolve.

However, I firmly believe that certain cases deserve to override all the conditions inherent and possibly necessary for the acceptance into the country of a person who comes from elsewhere. This is the case of Lisa Mahmoud.

Not only did she experience what no one else should experience and is slowly and painfully recovering from it, but she was also able to demonstrate that she contributed to driving the Quebec economy during the short time she spent here. Furthermore, in our current situation, she represents the example of a perfect immigrant because she is French-speaking. What more do we want?

What I don’t understand is the lack of compassion on the part of the government for someone who was the victim of a terrible attack and who still chose to come back to live and stay in Quebec. I believe we owe him at least his permanent residency and at most some reparation.
