On the markets, in supermarkets, there are fears of shortages of fresh produce. The fuel crisis worries the food industry, Wednesday, October 12. Professionals claim that they will soon no longer be able to deliver to their customers.

The stalls are still well stocked, but the lack of fuel worries the market gardeners. “Tomorrow there will be no delivery”confides Marielle Marconcini, market gardener. “We will remain on the market, but we will not be able to make deliveries precisely to try to save as much fuel as possible.” In the halls of Avignon (Vaucluse), a vegetable seller makes the same observation. The crisis forces him to offer less fresh fruits and vegetables, going only once a week, instead of three, to restock.

The entire operating chain is impacted. Wednesday, October 12 in the morning, customers deserted the aisles of the halls of Avignon. Traders therefore passed on their supply difficulties to prices. The shortage of gasoline reduces available stocks, and as a result, prices increase for the consumer.
