It’s one of the French sensations of the year. And she’s also a novice. His first album The Symphony of Lightning having dazzled critics and the public this year: Zaho De Sagazan perfectly represents what this Joséphine Prize wishes to highlight: novelty, originality, and great freedom.

Freedom in musical genres, when Benjamin Epps, Prince Waly, Eesah Yasuke or Tuerie proudly wear hip-hop colors, with three superb albums in the spotlight, but also freedom in expression, when the Acid Arab trio founded its techno in oriental rhythms, or that Blick Bassy devotes Madibahis latest album, to the necessary preservation of water on the planet.

Reward, finally, this Joséphine Prize, for artists like Flavien Berger or Voyou, tireless creators of masterful French pop, or for a singer from the lyrical field, Laure Slabiak, stage name blaubird, singular voice of French song.

The winner of the Prize – which takes its name from Joséphine Baker and Dare Joséphine by Alain Bashung – was nominated during the Palmarès concert on September 27 at Studio 104 of the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique, broadcast live on FIP. The Joséphine Prize has the particularity of being conducted by a jury of artists, the president of which this time is Eddy de Pretto. Among the jurors, we find in particular Arthur Teboul (singer of Feu! Chatterton) and the twins of the group Ibeyi.
