From the Pyrenees to Australia, Willo’s Folk land in the Happy Hour Live!

Originally from the Tarn, Cécile arrived in the Pyrenees 20 years ago, after passing through the moors. First she played the saxophone. One day her parents gave her sister a guitar for her 18th birthday. And so Cécile, who decides to borrow it from him, begins to play the guitar. But his first instrument is his voice. It’s a gift ! But it took a long time to believe it. These are her friends who said to Cécile, “you have a sacred voice”, go on stage! Then we had to gain confidence because Cécile is shy. However, there will be a first group “Whisper”, then a second “Passenger side”. And finally the meeting with Olivier, says Oli …

Olivier’s dad, Jazz guitarist, allows him to discover music very early on. But like a grand cru, Oli must age. First to find a style of music and then to stick his notes and texts on it. Folk imposes itself on him by dint of travel, first in Quebec, then in Australia. It is this last road trip, which forges him the intimate conviction, that he has touched with his finger what he feels deep inside him. But “Oli” is hardworking and still mature. When he returned to France, he discovered the Pyrenees in 2011. 4 years later, it is in Bigorre that everything will rush, with a first concert, where he faces his fears. He does not suspect that he will meet Cécile, and that his life will change …

The meeting therefore takes place in 2014, in the Pyrenees. Cécile is touched by the music and texts of Oli and Oli succumbs to Cécile’s singular tone of voice. The Folk running through their veins and the vision they have of their art, finish bringing them together. On stage, as in the city. Willo, was born ! Or rather, to start: The Weeping Willow, to become Willow, and finally Willo.
Since then they have been delivering inspired folk, sometimes modern, sometimes imbued with the original codes of traditional across the Atlantic and that born of English, Irish and Scottish migrants in Australia. Influenced by blues and soul, this duo made the bet successful to offer an Anglo-Saxon writing in the service of the soundscapes evoked by their compositions. It’s time to discover them in the Happy Hour on Live!
