From Santa Claus to alleged pimp: new charges against Réjean Bacon

Already accused of sexual assault on several women, now the former Santa Claus of Petit-Champlain Réjean Bacon sees his file increase with the filing of new charges, including some of pimping.

These are six new counts which will be added on Wednesday to the 10 already brought against Réjean Bacon last fall.

According to the denunciation act filed at the Quebec courthouse, the one who was known for many years as Santa Claus of the Petit-Champlain district would have brought two young adult women to offer sexual services between January 2016 and December 2017.

The 72-year-old man is also accused of sexually assaulting the victims during the same period.

Another charge relates to obtaining sexual services for consideration, while the final count relates to drug trafficking.

Release investigation

Réjean Bacon was already due to return to court on Wednesday for the holding of his release investigation in his first cases. He will appear on the new counts at the same time.

The man has been detained since last October in connection with the first charges filed against him. The crown accused him in particular of sexual assault, acts of voyeurism as well as the obtaining of sexual services and the possession of drugs, namely Oxycodone and GHB.
