It’s the clash of the weekend: a remote duel between Marine Le Pen and Eric Zemmour. The first brings together its supporters in Reims (Marne) on Saturday February 5, and the other in Lille (Nord). Journalists Valéry Lerouge and Christelle Méral are live on the set of 12/13, respectively at the meeting of the candidate of the National Rally and that of her rival.

Saturday February 5, the journalist Valéry Lerouge is live from Reims (Marne) where the first major meeting of Marine Le Pen is held, two months before the presidential election. “It’s probably the only one of this magnitude”, says the journalist. Marine Le Pen has chosen “to carry out a local campaign (…) because, for the RN candidate, the meetings only bring together people who are already committed to the cause”. The journalist explains that she “will move up a gear by launching at 1:30 p.m. around thirty buses bearing his image which will leave in all regions with the aim of visiting 5,000 markets”. For Marine Le Pen, her opponents in this election are Emmanuel Macron and abstention, “much more dangerous in his eyes that Eric Zemmour”, concludes Valéry Lerouge.

At the same time, in Lille (Nord), Érick Zemmour intends to put on a show of force. “He wants to pull out all the stops to try to seduce Marine Le Pen’s electorate”, explains journalist Christelle Méral, since the meeting in Lille. More than 6,000 people are expected. “There is the war of images and that of programs”, she continues. “Erick Zemmour should talk less about immigration, but more about purchasing power, Marine Le Pen’s number one theme”, says the journalist. She also specifies that an important security device has been put in place, because two demonstrations are planned in this region which often votes RN.
