The Chastenay cattle scale (municipality associated with Ouanne since 1973)

In France, between the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th century, cattle scales were essential tools for the economy of the countryside, which lived exclusively on agriculture and animal husbandry. They were necessary for negotiations and transactions between breeders and horse dealers.
