Away from the stage for several years, Jean-Goldman is celebrated during a “Goldman Heritage” concert, bringing together several artists from the current scene. Michel Sardou’s work is also at the heart of a show, proving that revivals are on the rise.
It’s like a best-of from a great absentee. Different artists from the current French scene are shouting at the great successes of Jean-Jacques Goldman. From “Quand la musique est bonne” to “Envole-moi”, the artist’s repertoire passes into the hands of the new French scene, under the watchful eye of Michael Jones, Goldman’s faithful accomplice: “He is one of those artists who entered French culture. He left us his songs, which are great. We can interpret them without betraying them.”
Jean-Jacques Goldman is however not the only monument of French music to be honored. A musical featuring Michel Sardou’s greatest hits has also been staged. What create a bridge with the new generation anxious to pay tribute to their elders. Hobs, one of the artists of the show, is one of them: “It was a real discovery for me. Both the texts and the melodies, I realized the richness of his work and his cultural heritage.”
