From his time at the La Brède FC club, Jules Koundé “had something more”

It is this Wednesday evening, in the 8 p.m. newspaper of TF1 that Didier Deschamps, coach of the French football team, will reveal the list that all football fans are waiting for: the names of the 23 to 26 players selected to compete the World Cup in Qatar, which starts in 11 days. There will inevitably be the essentials, Griezmann, Mbappé, Benzéma or Lloris. And at home, in Gironde, we wait two players who started their professional career at the Girondins de Bordeaux: Aurélien Tchouaméni and Jules Koundé. Koundé, the child of Landiras, who notably cut his teeth at the La Brède football club, between 2010 and 2013. He was between 12 and 15 years old.

Already he “stands out”says Tony Gomez, president of La Brède FC for 20 years. “He could play in all positions, in defense, in attack. He often played midfield. I think he tried everything”, he continues. The president of the La Brède club, proud to have welcomed such a nugget into his ranks: “we introduced him to the whole panel of the footballer”. “We could see that he had a lot more than the others. We thought he could turn professional. To do this career, we were pleasantly surprised. Considering how hardworking, simple, he deserves!”
