In total, Gilles Salfati has spent 24 days on the bike since leaving at the end of August. A project that has become exceptional over time according to the lawyer “we realized that the project was going to catch on. We did almost everything we wanted.”

A big boost for cancer research

“We lived strong moments, with a lot of solidarity and benevolence. We rubbed shoulders with the League against cancer in all the regions we crossed” rejoiced Gilles Salfati on his descent from the bike. A fundraiser in any case for the pediatric department from the Marseille hospital in Timone. “This gesture brings us enormous publicity” illustrates Pierre Garosi, the president of the league against cancer in the Bouches-du-Rhône.

So how will the money raised be used? “Only for research” completes Pierre Garosi. A breakthrough to continue to improve treatments: thanks to research, 4 out of 5 children are now cured of childhood cancer.

How to participate in the pot?

To salute the sporting achievement of Gilles Salfati in turn, it is always possible to make a donation on the Leetchi kitty “Let’s defend life.” Over the whole of 2022, the Bouches-du-Rhône Cancer League hopes to donate 200,000 euros to the Timone hospital research center.
