Agri’fête at the Clévos
Agri’party

This festivity is organized by the association APER, Les Amis du Patrimoine Etoilien et de la Ruralité, an association which works by collecting and restoring agricultural equipment of yesteryear.

A day in the countryside as before!

Saturday August 20: setting up, free visit and access to the refreshment bar.
Sunday August 21: the big party at the Clévos site in Etoile-sur-Rhône. You will find there an animation around the a thousand ways to thresh wheat, from the flail to the combine harvester, an exhibition of old threshing machines in motion, an exhibition of old tractors including a centenary Centaur, events around old trades that have disappeared: making ropes, ladders, brooms, the mobile forge and its blacksmith, the bread chain with its two ovens for wood-fired bread.

The making of bread begins with the choice of wheat and its transformation in a mill or flour mill (from “miller”) like that of Lionel Hortail in Mornans between Saou and Bourdeaux, where the cereal flours that must be delivered to the trade are prepared. Lionel is a demanding enthusiast who collects, mixes and naturally preserves his cereals and flours before distributing them to bakers and restaurateurs, such as La maison Pic in Valence or L’oiseau sur sa branch in Saou.

APER travels and presents the bread chain in schools to discover the secrets of bread making, from harvesting the wheat to taking the bread out of the oven, with tasting of wheat grains and molding of bread rolls for the children and making balls for older children.
