Chouquettes are so popular that they have managed to establish themselves in thousands of offices. Their distribution is no longer a simple gesture of conviviality.

Pearls of sugar on a crispy dough, all in lightness: this is the recipe for the chouquette. Eaten plain, sometimes filled with cream for the more expensive ones, they need few ingredients to be created. “Eggs, milk, water, flour, salt, butter, salt and sugar mixed together, and granulated sugar to decorate”, explains Éric Kayser, artisan baker. Its recipe, from the 16th century, was taught to young girls in the 1960s; for men, they were a pastry CAP test.

Chouquettes for an informal meeting

In the offices of a company, an employee introduced the chouquettes to wear in turn. A little pleasure to share with colleagues, every Thursday. “It’s a tool for sharing, for conviviality, which allows you to take stock of the week, which is a little informal but also effective”abounds the HRD, which approves the idea.
