Friday noon | Alexandra Stréliski outside at Place des Arts

Pianist Alexandra Stréliski will play for free near the Place des Arts Esplanade on Friday noon. His identity was revealed on Thursday, about 24 hours after the PDA announced a surprise performance.

The most discerning may have already guessed the identity of the artist, even if the short video released Wednesday on the PDA’s Facebook page gave very little information on this subject. The sequence of a few seconds showed a right hand strumming in an unidentified setting. Only a ring worn on the ring finger could be a clue.

“I have a sweet surprise for you,” the message first read. The following sequence gave more information: “I’ll meet you this Friday, May 19, 12:30 p.m., at the foot of the Place des Arts Esplanade. »

Alexandra Stréliski will play about fifteen minutes, according to information obtained by The Press. This short performance aims to draw attention to a concert titled In the woods which it will present on August 24, 25 and 26 at the Amphithéâtre Fernand-Lindsay, in Joliette.

The pianist and composer, who recently signed a contract with the multinational Sony, begins a tour in Ottawa on Saturday that will take her throughout Quebec, but also to Los Angeles (May 25) and Brooklyn (May 27).
