Friday Night in the NHL | Kane helps Red Wings to 7-6 shootout victory over Flyers

Patrick Kane scored twice during a five-goal period for the Red Wings, as well as finding the back of the net in a shootout, and Detroit beat the Philadelphia Flyers 7-6 on Friday.

Dylan Larkin scored the tying goal in the third period, after seeing his team slip away from a four-goal lead.

Daniel Sprong, JT Compher and Shayne Gostisbehere also scored in the victory, while Alex DeBrincat had three assists, including the 200e of her career.

Goaltender James Reimer blocked 37 shots for the Red Wings.

Scott Laughton made it 5-5 for the Flyers in the third period. Bobby Brink, Sean Couturier, Morgan Frost, Garnet Hathaway and Owen Tippett also scored.

Carter Hart stopped 31 shots.

Kane scored the first two goals of the game.

Brink cut the lead to 2-1, but the Red Wings scored three goals in the final 4:55 of the period.
