Jason Robertson gives the Stars the win
Jason Robertson played heroes for the Stars by recovering his own throwback in overtime to give the Stars a 4-3 win over the Winnipeg Jets on Friday night.
Jacob Peterson, Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn also found the back of the net for the Stars, who scored their second straight win since the All-Star game break. The team is on an excellent streak having won seven of its last nine games. Jake Oettinger made 31 saves.
Pierre-Luc Dubois, Jensen Harkins and Mark Scheifele were the goalscorers in the Jets’ camp that suffered eight losses in their last ten meetings, including three in overtime. Connor Hellebuyck stopped 31 shots.
With the Stars leading by one goal late in the game, Scheifele forced overtime with a point shot that beat Oettinger. The Jets had retired their goaltender in favor of a sixth skater and managed to bottle the Stars in their territory to score with 31 seconds on the clock.
The Jets meet the Predators on Saturday night in Nashville while the Stars host the Avalanche on Sunday.

The Oilers offer a victory to their new head coach
Connor McDavid set up two goals for his teammates as the Edmonton Oilers handed their new head coach a first victory by a score of 3-1 at the expense of the New York Islanders.
Jay Woodcroft was therefore able to fully savor his baptism of fire, Friday evening, behind the bench of the Oilers.
Cody Ceci, Zach Hyman and Jesse Puljujarvi scored the goals for the Oilers (24-18-3) to end a two-game losing streak. They have won six of their last nine games. In goal, goaltender Mike Smith was solid stopping 37 shots.
Anthony Beauvillier was the only one to beat Smith for the Islanders (17-18-6) who have just suffered a fourth loss in six games.
After watching their goaltender block an 18-shot barrage, the Oilers once again managed to score the first goal. It was Ceci who beat goaltender Ilya Sorokin with a powerful shot from the point late in the first period. The Oilers were a perfect 12-0 when they scored the first goal and the logic was followed.
Puljujarvi’s third-period goal ended a 14-game scoreless drought.
The Islanders will be back on the ice Saturday to face the Flames in Calgary. In the case of the Oilers, they can enjoy the weekend before traveling to San Jose to face the Sharks on Monday.
