The Wild defeat the Blackhawks 4-1

Mats Zuccarello scored three goals and added an assist, Marc-André Fleury stopped 28 shots and the Minnesota Wild defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-1 on Friday for a fourth straight victory.

Kirill Kaprizov had a goal and two assists while Sam Steel added two assists. The members of the Wild’s first line continued their good streak.

The trio have combined for 19 goals since Steel, 24, was linked with the pair of Kaprizov and Zuccarello 13 games ago. The Wild are 10-3-0 in that span.

Zuccarello extended his streak to nine games with one point. He scored six goals and had eight assists during the series.

Jonathan Toews scored his 10e goal of the campaign and Petr Mrazek made 18 saves for the Blackhawks, who lost a sixth straight game — all in regulation time — and for the 14e times in 15 games (1-13-1).

Jordan Kyrou completes a brace and the Blues defeat the Flames 5-2

Jordan Kyrou scored twice as the St. Louis Blues posted a third straight victory by defeating the Calgary Flames 5-2 on Friday.

Ivan Barbashev and Pavel Buchnevich each had a goal and an assist for the Blues (15-15-1). Brandon Saad also hit the mark.

Thomas Greiss made 40 saves to win his fourth game in his last five starts for the Blues.

Connor Mackey scored both goals for the Flames (13-12-6), who have tasted no victory in their last five outings (0-2-3) and who were booed by the home crowd at the end of the meeting.

Mackey’s two goals were the second and third of his career, but the first in front of a crowd. His only other goal came in the final game of the 2020-21 season in an empty Saddledome due to COVID-19 restrictions.

Dillon Dube and Elias Lindholm each had two assists as Jacob Markstrom stopped 18 shots in the loss.
