He broke the 2-2 tie midway through the third period, with his 11e goal of the season.

His teammates Jordan Martinook and Martin Necas had scored earlier.

Sebastian Aho completed in an empty net for the Hurricanes, victorious eight times in their last 10 games.

Michael Bunting provided two assists. Antti Raanta was very light, finishing the night with 10 saves.

Klim Kostin and JT Compher scored the goals for the Red Wings, who had won three games in a row.

Alex Lyon blocked 26 shots.
