Wennberg and McCann lead the Kraken to victory
Alex Wennberg and Jared McCann had a goal and an assist as the Seattle Kraken beat the Columbus Blue Jackets on Friday.
It was a third straight victory for the Kraken.
Joran Eberle and Brandon Tanev scored the other Kraken goals, while Vince Dunn had two assists.
Philipp Grubauer blocked 23 shots for the Kraken, who with the victory remain ahead of the Oilers in third place in the Pacific Division.
Adam Boqvist and Patrik Laine had a goal and an assist for the Blue Jackets, who have lost two of their last three games. Elvis Merzlikins made 34 saves.
Laine scored 10:18 into the second period. It was the first power play goal allowed by the Kraken in their last nine games, while the last was on February 14.
The Blue Jackets’ lead didn’t last long, as the Kraken then scored twice in 48 seconds through McCann, followed by Eberle on the power play.
Boqvist tied the game for the Blue Jackets after 4:53 of play in the third period, but a goal by Wennberg against his former team, nine seconds after the start of a power play by Kraken, gave him the lead. here for good.
Tanev made it 4-2 with an empty-net goal in the last minute of play.

Hurricanes back on track, thanks in part to two goals from Aho
Sebastian Aho had two goals as the Carolina Hurricanes outscored the Arizona Coyotes 6-1 on Friday.
Shayne Gostisbehere, Paul Stastny, Jaccob Slavin and Martin Necas scored the other goals for the winners.
One of Aho’s nets came on the power play, like those of Necas and Gostisbehere.
Brent Burns was involved in four goals, while Necas and Andrei Svechnikov provided two assists each.
Antti Ranta stopped 17 shots, only being beaten by Lawson Crouse.
Carolina had lost twice in a row.
The club leads the Metropolitan section, two points ahead of New Jersey. The Devils will play in Arizona on Sunday.
Karel Vejmelka made 36 saves in a losing cause.

Four points for Ryan Nugent-Hopkins in Oilers win
Ryan Nugent-Hopkins had two goals and two assists on Friday to help the Edmonton Oilers win 6-3 over the Winnipeg Jets.
Nugent-Hopkins completed his double on the power play to make it 5-0 early in the third period.
He thus reached the milestone of 30 goals for the first time in his career.
Leon Draisaitl and Kailer Yamamoto also scored twice for the Oilers, who will be visiting Winnipeg on Saturday night.
Yamamoto hit the target twice within 40 seconds.
Connor McDavid was instrumental in three goals. With 57 power-play points, he tied the Oilers’ single-season record. The brand was established by Wayne Gretzky, in 1981-1982.
Axel Jonsson-Fjallby, Mark Scheifele and Brenden Dillon scored for the Jets, who were losing a fifth straight game.
