Frenchman suspected of being a Marseille drug trafficker arrested by Spanish police

According to the Spanish authorities, Jean-Anthony Blas is “one of the most wanted fugitives in France”.

A Frenchman suspected of being “the main member of a clan” Marseille man engaged in drug trafficking was arrested near Tarragona, in the north-east of Spain, local police announced on Sunday February 25. The Spanish authorities presented this man as “one of France’s most wanted fugitives”.

The individual, the subject of a European arrest warrant, was arrested in a bar in the coastal town of Salou. He was identified as Jean-Anthony Blas, born in 1990, according to Spanish police. The Marseille clan, of which he is presented as “a main member”, “regularly exported cannabis to Spain and had a large arsenal of weapons of war”she adds.

The wanted man has already received“a sentence of ten years in prison [en France] for offenses of drug trafficking, illegal possession of weapons, offenses against public order and security and membership of an organized criminal gang., according to the Spanish police. He escaped a law enforcement operation in March 2023 in France, managing to use four different identities during his flight.
