A French winner in Maubeuge! Jason Tesson, pocket sprinter from the Saint-Michel-Auber 93 formation, raised his arms on the second stage of the 4 days of Dunkirk, Wednesday May 4, after a smooth finish. Perfectly led by his teammate Joris Delbove in the last two kilometers, the 2020 French amateur champion then took advantage of the work of Hugo Hofstetter who launched his sprint from too far, to cross the line in the lead. He resisted the cannon return of the Belgian Gerben Thijssen (Intermarché-Wanty Gobert) and Thomas Boudat (Go Sport-Roubaix Lille Métropole).

This third professional success, along with the bonuses gleaned during the stage, places Jason Tesson at the top of the general classification of the northern event. Arvid de Kleijn, leader’s pink jersey on his shoulders, did not have enough strength to throw into battle in the fourth and therefore lost his tunic.
