200,000 people went to the Rio Carnival which will end on February 17. Among them, many French people came to Brazil to realize their dream of participating in the festivities.

Illuminating the heart of Rio (Brazil), the greatest show on earth has begun. Between the floats and the dancers, French women slipped into the procession. Behind the scenes of this extraordinary carnival, many French people have made a special place for themselves. This is the case of a group of 15 dancers from the Parisian suburbs. Thanks to their teacher, they will parade for the first time at the carnival. “We are as excited as children at Christmas”enthuses Emilie Fortes.

A dream for many French people

Among the French people present for the party is Léo Thilie, creator of show sets. “It was a dream for me to work on the Rio Carnival (…) it’s a very closed environment”, he emphasizes. He works in particular on the immense polystyrene figures of the tanks. The latter parade on Avenue du Sambodrome during the festivities.
