After the launch of the vaccination campaign, the first results are positive. The virus has circulated very little in the territory.

A little patience, it will be done quickly. Less than 10 seconds per injection. Under the supervision of a veterinarian, a breeder’s ducks are vaccinated in series. After a second dose, they will be immunized against bird flu. Since the launch of the vaccination campaign last October, bird flu has no longer caused damage. No cases have been recorded in the South-West for several months. The mandatory vaccination campaign for farmed ducks is proving effective.

A relief for the breeder who, on two occasions, saw his farm become contaminated. He lost 18,000 ducks. France has been regularly hit by the virus since 2015, causing mass euthanasia to slow its circulation and heavy economic losses for producers. The campaign also has a cost: the State has committed to financing up to 85% until October 2024.
