A team from France Télévisions followed the Ukrainian unit which uses the Caesar guns delivered by the French army.
In the countryside of Donbass (Ukraine), we have an appointment with the elite of Ukrainian artillerymen. This unit uses Caesar guns delivered by France. Alignment in a rapeseed field, preparation for firing, millimetric procedure and 155 mm shells. Russian artillery pieces positioned 17 kilometers away are the target today.
Immediately after firing, the Ukrainian gunners must leave as quickly as possible to avoid being spotted by the enemy. “We were sent to France to study the Caesar’s firing technique. We received a lot of information and we had to understand everything, as quickly as possible, in less than two weeks”, explains a commander, who has six guns at his disposal. According to him, these weapons allowed the elimination of at least 80 pieces of Russian artillery.
