Impatience before Lana Del Rey is already Lana Del Rey. In this case, a long queue formed very early, around 6 p.m., Wednesday March 22, on a Parisian sidewalk. Here, in a very well-appointed Universal Music basement, a stone’s throw from the Pantheon, everyone discovered that very morning that they had been selected for this private listening.
So, religiously, looking towards a screen on which only the cover is displayed, we close our eyes and listen.
Sixteen tracks and almost an hour and a half of listening later, according to the guests of the album (Jon Batiste, Father John Misty or Tommy Genesis), as well as a few surprises in the sound, some fans are too moved to talk to hot. One of them explains, in a sentence that is intended to be definitive: “If you want to cry, you listen to him. And if you want to dance, you listen to it too“.
A little behind, there is Amine. Lana Del Rey, for him, is someone important: “Long story short, she’s been there in my life when very few people have been, her music has been a way for me to find solace“.
The singer, who obviously did not come, and worse, has not yet announced a concert in France, continues her rate of releases, almost one record per year for the past three years. This one, longer, surprising and thicker than the others, did not disappoint anyone. And certainly not Mary: “The last track on the album blew me away, I couldn’t get over it, I’m in a bubble! I’m knocked out“. A real love story.
