The Ukrainian crisis can have direct and concrete consequences for our businesses. France is indeed the second largest investor in Russia with large brands, but also full of SMEs.

With the crisis, she is no longer certain of being able to leave. “We were supposed to go there for a week, to meet major Russian distributors“, she says. Without her contracts, her whole business is in jeopardy, because the Russian market is very important for her.
In 2021, France exported 6.4 billion euros to Russia, or 1.3% of its total exports. Companies are also established in Russia: SMEs and large groups such as Danone, Decathlon or Société Générale. The Renault company sells 300,000 of its vehicles each year in Russia. This could therefore weaken the French companies present on the spot. According to an entrepreneur based in Moscow, the first consequences are already being felt because “there are a lot of delays in the trucks at the border“.
