A preliminary investigation has been opened against the French association Humani’Terre, in particular for financing terrorism, since November 3, 2023, franceinfo learned on Wednesday July 17 from the National Anti-Terrorism Prosecutor’s Office (Pnat), confirming information from the Figaro.
The investigation concerns “on suspicions of fundraising actions for Hamas by the Humani’Terre association”specifies the Pnat. The investigation is also open for “criminal terrorist association, money laundering in an organized gang and in connection with a terrorist enterprise”.
“As part of the ongoing investigations, seizures have in fact been made for an amount exceeding 36 million euros. They are nevertheless being contested before the Court of Appeal.adds the Pnat. The investigations aim in particular to determine whether the funds collected were indeed sent to a terrorist organisation.”
