Asked about the recovery of the Secours populaire relays in Morocco, Henriette Steinberg, general secretary of Secours populaire, indicates that she has four friends who will leave “to meet people and partners. We have had friends in Morocco for decades, we have the possibility of having information on the situation”she specifies. “For us, it is obvious that the importance of collection and solidarity in our country will be very effective”she continues.

“Ability to send means”

One of the crucial issues after the earthquake is access to small villages, where the toll is hardest. “This is why as soon as we had the information, we mobilized the various resources to commit additional resources”specifies Colonel Alexandre Jouassard, of the Civil Security staff. “We have offered campaign equipment (…) we already have the capacity to send resources as soon as Morocco deems it useful”, he says. The colonel affirms that there are direct exchanges between the two countries “to coordinate the sending of means”.
