Freezing rain is expected in several regions of Quebec on Wednesday and Thursday, Environment Canada announced.
“A warm front associated with a low from the Prairies will cross Quebec on Wednesday and Thursday,” Environment Canada said in a special weather report.
Freezing rain could affect parts of the south of the province as of Wednesday evening and could then move to parts of central Quebec overnight or Thursday morning.
Up to 10 millimeters of ice could fall in the Laurentians, in Lanaudière, in the La Vérendrye wildlife reserve, in the Mont-Tremblant park, in Mont-Laurier.
Between 2 and 4 millimeters of ice are expected in Abitibi, Gatineau, La Tuque, Quebec City and Témiscamingue.
Surfaces, such as roads, streets, sidewalks and parking lots, could become icy and slippery, Environment Canada said.
