Freestyle Skiing World Cup | Miha Fontaine sixth in jumps in Switzerland

(Saint-Moritz) Quebecer Miha Fontaine finished sixth in the aerials event of the Freestyle Skiing World Cup, held Sunday in Engadine Saint-Moritz, Switzerland.


In Final 2, the 19-year-old athlete from Magog experienced some difficulties that caused him to lose valuable points in terms of form and landing, and he finished last among the six qualified competitors, with a score of 89.14.

Ukrainian Dmytro Kotovskyi won the gold medal with a score of 136.76, ahead of Switzerland’s Noé Roth (133.11) and American Christopher Lillis (128.00).

Earlier in the day, Fontaine had earned his ticket to Final 1 with a score of 118.14, earning him second place behind Lillis (123.53) in the qualifying stage.

Alexandre Duchaine, from Quebec, also managed to get his pass for the final 1 following a performance that allowed him to obtain a score of 102.46 and the 10e rank.

During this final 1, Fontaine obtained a score of 112.39, good for fifth place and a place in final 2. Duchaine was not able to accompany him there, having to settle for 12e place, with a score of 79.38.
