Freestyle Jumping World Cup | A victory for Marion Thénault to conclude the season

(Almaty) Quebecer Marion Thénault won the acrobatic jumping event at the Almaty World Cup on Sunday in Kazakhstan.

These are the results of the qualifications which were used to establish the classification due to the fog and the low visibility on the tracks at the time of the final.

Thénault obtained 94.11 points by performing the jump with the highest coefficient of difficulty. She beat Australian Danielle Scott (87.25) and Chinese Fanyu Kong (82.21).

This is a second victory this season for the athlete from Sherbrooke after that of Ruka, Finland, on December 3.

Thénault therefore finished third in the season rankings with 311 points, or 109 less than Scott, who got his hands on the crystal globe.

Among the men, Lewis Irving had the best Canadian result in eighth place. He beat Quebecers Pierre-Olivier Côté (ninth), Émile Nadeau (10e) and Alexandre Duchaine (11e). Victor Primeau is at 13e step.

The Chinese Guangpu Qi won the event and obtained the crystal globe. Duchaine placed sixth with one victory this season.
