Freedom Mobile launches a plan including international calls and data

(Toronto) Freedom Mobile is launching a new plan with international roaming that offers its customers unlimited calls and text messages to 73 destinations, as the company continues to roll out new offers since its acquisition by Videotron, a subsidiary of Quebecor.

The new “Roam Beyond” plan includes 60GB of international mobile data for $65 per month after the digital discount is applied, according to a Freedom statement released Tuesday.

The offering covers the United States and Mexico, as well as countries in Europe, the Caribbean, Asia and the Middle East.

Quebecor President and CEO Pierre Karl Péladeau says Freedom, which his company acquired from Shaw when the latter was sold to Rogers Communications, “continues to reinvent foreign roaming with an offering never before seen in the Canada.”

Videotron did not specify The Press if it intends to offer this package to its own subscribers in Quebec. “Videotron’s offering is constantly evolving,” a spokesperson said by email. Our customers will be the first to be informed of upcoming new features. »

Freedom announced earlier this year that it would offer a $50 monthly plan, the first with nationwide coverage, including unlimited talk and text as well as 40GB of data usable across Canada and the United States.

Access to 5G has also been expanded to all plans $39 or more, after previously adding 5G for customers on plans $45 and above.
