(Ottawa) The defence will present its closing arguments on Thursday in the criminal trial of two prominent organizers of the “freedom convoy.”
The Crown alleges that Tamara Lich and Chris Barber worked together to cause weeks of disruption in Ottawa in order to pressure the government to change its policy on handling the pandemic.
They were among many organizers opposed to vaccination mandates who demonstrated in the capital in 2022.
Tamara Lich and Chris Barber are co-charged with mischief, intimidation and counseling others to break the law during the three-week protest.
The court is due to hear from Barber’s legal team shortly.
