War between Israel and Hamas: released, the hostages return from hell
War between Israel and Hamas: released, the hostages return from hell – (France 2)
17 hostages found freedom on Sunday October 26, after 51 days of captivity. Each liberation has its own story, moments of joy and wounds that remain. Nearly 200 hostages still remain held by Hamas.
It was once again in front of a crowd in Gaza that the Hamas militiamen, in the back of their pick-up, came to hand over the hostages to the Red Cross. One of the released elderly women was immediately examined. His state of health is considered serious.
In another vehicle, we can see the faces of children. There are eight of them, including a four-year-old American girl, kidnapped after both her parents were murdered on October 7. On the night of Saturday November 25 to Sunday November 26, there were scenes of happy reunions between several of these children and their parents.
Difficult conditions
The detention conditions were particularly harsh for the hostages. “There were days when they had nothing to eat, just a little bread and rice. My cousin and her mother lost between six and eight kilos“, says Merav Morovov, cousin of a freed hostage. Cheered by flags, the third group of hostages entered Israeli territory in the evening.
