Pitcher Chris Bassitt did the same with the New York Mets’ $19 million option, joining teammates Jacob deGrom and Taijuan Walker as free agents.
They are among 11 athletes who became free agents on Tuesday, bringing the major league total to 151.
About 33 players could become free agents starting Thursday, adding to a group that is led by Aaron Judge, Trea Turner, Dansby Swanson, deGrom, Carlos Correa and Xander Bogaerts.
