On May 22, 2023, the Belgian artist will indeed have to report to the Prudhommes court in Boulogne-sur-Mer (62), summoned to appear following the filing of a complaint by one of his former fans. The latter accuses him of having made him work without a contract or salary for years! He is now claiming that he be recognized for a salary link and the corresponding allowances over a period of three years, the maximum possible duration. “The father and the son told me that they really liked my work”
According to the daily, the man whose initials are “DB” scrupulously kept the singer’s Facebook page for years. A great admirer of Frédéric François, the latter confides that he was contacted by the latter’s son, about 10 years ago, when he himself had a fan page dedicated to the artist: “his son contacted me to talk about the Facebook page I hosted. He invited me to a concert where I was able to meet Frédéric François. The father and the son told me that they liked my work very much, that I was going to continue doing it, but with information coming directly from them”, he tells our colleagues. One thing leading to another, “DB”, which had become essential for the promotion of the artist, ended up accompanying him everywhere, on all the tours, also wrote the fanzine, and even participated in the production of the album Duo, “by organizing duos with Voulzy, Benabar, Dave, Adamo, etc..”, he says. In short, a dedicated man who has become indispensable. And always on a voluntary basis! But little by little, after a very great complicity, the ties were distended… “It was felt that my work over all these years was not professional enough”he says, even admitting that the singer’s entourage treated him like a “parasite fan”. Enough is enough, injured, the man decides to attack Frédéric François at the tribunal des Prud’hommes. And to defend himself, he chose the lawyer Tiphaine Auzière who is none other than one of the two daughters of Brigitte Macron. And the latter does not intend to let go of the matter easily: “It’s no secret that my client worked for Frédéric François’ production company, organizing his concerts and music videos, maintaining the official Facebook page for many years.”she says to The voice of the North. And to add:The opposing party refuses to recognize it, but we have documents which justify it. There was no declaration on hiring, nor payment of the related salaries. The court will appreciate. For the concealed work, we have filed a criminal complaint”, she continues. Verdict on May 22 at 2 p.m.
