Being asked to lower his salary to raise his co-stars’ salaries for Scooby-Doo 2 deeply insulted Freddie Prinze Jr., reports HollywoodReporter.
“My ego was angry,” he said in an interview with the American magazine, where he said that Warner, the studio that produced scooby-dooasked him to take a pay cut so that his co-stars’ salaries could be increased when filming the sequel.
“I remember thinking to myself: wait a minute, who is giving this increase? Me or you? he said, on the sidelines of an interview about the film Christmas With You released recently. You’ve just been made a quarter of a billion and you can’t afford to offer them what I’m earning? His frustration escalated when the studio publicly revealed his salary.
Freddie Prinze Jr. portrays Fred Jones, one of the Mystery Inc. team members in scooby-doo (2002) and Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004). He shared the poster with Sarah Michelle Gellar, Matthew Lillard and Linda Cardellini.
