The Toronto Raptors kicked off a tour of the American West by beating the Spurs 119-104 on Wednesday in San Antonio.
Fred VanVleet was back in the lineup after missing five games with right knee pain. He made his presence felt by collecting 26 points, a high for the Canadian squad. His teammates Scottier Barnes and Pascal Siakam contributed with 20 points each.
Quebecers Chris Boucher (three points, three rebounds) and Khem Birch (four points, four rebounds) were discreet.
Dejounte Murray meanwhile led the charge for the home favorites. He was just one rebound from the triple-double, who had 25 points and 12 assists. Keldon Johnson had 27 points.
The Raptors return to action on Friday when they visit the Phoenix Suns. They will then face the Denver Nuggets, Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers before returning home.
