Fred and Jamy on bad terms with the hosts of “It’s still not rocket science”? The answer

It is one of his broadcasts which marked the French audiovisual landscape… Thus, six years after the end of This is not rocket science

in 2013, France Télévisions made the decision to relaunch the program. In 2019, a new version of the science popularization program was launched: It’s not always rocket science.

A program whose sixth season begins this Sunday, October 22, 2023 on France 4. For the occasion, Pierre Siracusa, director of the young audiences and education unit of France Télévisions, spoke to our colleagues from Leisure TV

“In ten years, science and technology have progressed a lot. We therefore wanted to re-offer an embodied magazine in line with school programs. We decided to capitalize on the notoriety of ‘It’s not rocket science’ and to keep a connection, without doing the same thing again”, he confided.

Fred and Jamy, still linked to the program?

While Fred Courant, Jamy Gourmand and Sabine Quindou undoubtedly left their mark on the program, the trio at the head of the new version of the show (Max Bird, Mathieu Dumery and Cécile Djunga) nevertheless made it known that they had not no contact with the old team.

“I hope it will happen one day,”still indicated the host. “It’s an immense pride to have brought back such a cult public utility program,” she concluded.

Regarding the bad reviews when the program was relaunched due to the numerous comparisons that viewers made with reference to the historic 1993 format, Cécile Djunga told Télé Loisirs: “It was a bit hard, there was a lot of pressure and some criticism from former viewers”. And to nuance “We have the advantage of not addressing the now adult fans of It’s Not Sorcerer, but a new generation just as curious to learn.”
