After Derby and Chelsea, place at Everton. Frank Lampard will now take up residence at Goodison Park. The English Club formalized the arrival of his new coach on Monday January 31 on his Twitter account.

At 43, the former midfielder replaces Rafael Benitez, dismissed just before the last international break. Lampard has signed up for two and a half years.

His short-term mission: get out Everton from their plight. Only sixteenth in the league, lhe Liverpool-based club are only four points clear of Newcastle, the first team in the relegation zone.

Frank Lampard had been without a club since being sacked by Chelsea in January 2021. He was then replaced by Thomas Tuechel who led the Blues to victory in the Champions League.

He will sit on the Everton bench on Saturday as the Toffees host Brentford in the FA Cup fourth round. Lampard will then prepare for a crucial game against NewcastleFebruary 8.
