The chief caquist, François Legault, suspended his electoral tour because of the hurricane Fiona which seems to be heading towards the Îles-de-la-Madeleine.
Mr. Legault said in the evening that the hurricane seems to be heading straight for the archipelago.
“Under the circumstances, I have canceled my planned activities tomorrow and suspended our electoral tour until further notice,” he said on social media.
Mr. Legault is in Quebec with Deputy Prime Minister Geneviève Guilbault, who is also Minister of Public Security.
