JERBA | Prime Minister François Legault intends to take advantage of his visit to Tunisia, on the occasion of the 18e Francophonie Summit, to develop business opportunities.

The Prime Minister of Quebec arrived on the island of Djerba on Friday. In addition to the official activities of the summit bringing together the delegations of the 88 member states of the International Organization of La Francophonie (OIF), several economic and diplomatic meetings are on the program for François Legault.
As soon as he arrived at his hotel, he was treated to a bilateral first, with Hichem Elloumi, founding president of Coficab, a Tunisian company that manufactures electric cables and vehicle components.
Mr. Legault was accompanied for the occasion by Hubert Bolduc, President of Investissement Québec International. The Prime Minister took the opportunity to discuss the battery sector, which Quebec is keen to develop.
François Legault then met the Minister-President of the Wallonia-Brussels Federation, Pierre-Yves Jeholet.
The French-speaking state of Belgium is a full member of the OIF, like Quebec.
Another point in common raised during a photo shoot with the Quebec media: Mr. Jeholet worked as a journalist before making the leap into politics, like the Quebec Minister of International Relations and La Francophonie, Martine Biron, who is there. since Thursday.
Mr. Legault must also meet on Friday with the secretary general of the OIF ‘Louise Mushikiwabo, who in all likelihood will obtain a second term at the end of the Summit, since she has no opponent.
The Prime Minister also plans to answer questions from journalists in the early evening, around 6 p.m. Tunisian time.
