Put under pressure by the Omicron variant, and one day after opening the door to review the arrangements for Holiday gatherings, François Legault will address Quebecers on Thursday evening.
The Prime Minister invited the media to a press briefing at 6 p.m. in Montreal. The Minister of Health, Christian Dubé, will accompany him, as will the national director of public health, Horacio Arruda.
The situation is critical. I will hold a press conference tonight at 6 p.m. to announce important measures due to the increase in COVID cases and the new Omicron variant.

Until Thursday morning, this impromptu press conference did not appear on Mr. Legault’s agenda.
On Wednesday, the chosen one had however left the doubt on the possibility of meeting with twenty people for the winter holidays. “With 2300 cases today, it would not be responsible for not looking at all the possibilities”, he had launched to the journalists gathered at the entrance of a meeting of the Council of Ministers.
Last year, almost on the same date, the Prime Minister announced flexibility for Christmas, before retracing his steps a few days later.
Further details will follow.
