François Hollande, Gabriel Attal, Marine Le Pen… Discover the results of the main political figures in the first round of the 2024 legislative elections

Party leaders, former ministers, personalities… and even a former President of the Republic. Many political figures were candidates on Sunday June 30 during the first round of the legislative elections. From the left to the far right, some were running for the first time, while others were trying to be re-elected, barely two years after the last election. Who was eliminated? Who is qualified? Franceinfo takes stock.

In the presidential camp

Gabriel Attal came out on top in the legislative elections in the 10th constituency of Hauts-de-Seine on Sunday evening, with 43.93% of the vote, according to partial results from the Ministry of the Interior. In the second round, the Prime Minister will face a candidate from the New Popular Front, the socialist Cécile Soubelet, who received 35.64% of the vote.

Gerald Darmanin has “thanked the voters” of the 10th district of the North, Sunday evening, for having brought him to the lead in the first round of the legislative elections. “The RN obtained a high score in our territory”specifies theInterior Minister Gérald Darmanin won 36.03% of the vote, narrowly ahead of the far-right party candidate Bastien Verbrugghe (34.31%). The New Popular Front candidate Leslie Mortreux (24.83%), is for its part largely behind.

Elisabeth Borne had a less favorable result. A candidate in her department of Calvados, the former Prime Minister qualified for the second round with 28.93% of the vote, but came behind the representative of the National Rally. Nicolas Calbrix received 36.26% of the vote in this constituency while Noé Gauchard, the candidate of the New Popular Front, came third with 23.16%. On France Bleu Normandie, the representative of the union of the left announced that he was withdrawing to block the far right.

The Minister responsible for Equality between women and men, Aurore Bergé, is in the lead in the 10th constituency of Yvelines. According to partial results from the Ministry of the Interior, it obtained 33.93% of the votes, ahead of the RN (28.94%) and the New Popular Front (21.10%).

In the 1st constituency of Isère, the former minister Olivier Veran comes in second place with 34.67%, behind the New Popular Front candidate Hugo Prevost (38.28%).

Within the New Popular Front

The former President of the Republic Francois Hollande came out on top in his stronghold of Corrèze, with 37.63% of the vote. The socialist, who had created a surprise by announcing that he was running for a new term as deputy in the first constituency of the department, is heading towards a three-way race with the candidate of the National Rally, Maïtey Pouget (30.89%), and the outgoing LR deputy, Francis Dubois (28.64%).

In the Somme, the fight was expected to be tough for François Ruffin. The outgoing deputy from La France insoumise finds himself in second position, with 33.92% of the votes, behind the candidate from the National Rally, Nathalie Ribeiro-Billet (40.69%). The Ensemble candidate, Albane Branlant, qualified for the second round with 22.68%, however announced that she was withdrawing.

The head of the French Communist Party, Fabien Rousselannounced that he was eliminated in the first round of the legislative elections in the 20th constituency of the North. The outgoing MP, invested under the banner of the New Popular Front, was beaten by Guillaume Fortin, candidate of the National Rally, elected in the first round with 50.3% of the vote.

The ecologist Sandrine Rousseau, outgoing deputy for the 9th district of Paris, was re-elected in the first round. According to partial results, she is well ahead of her competitors, winning 52% of the votes.

Alexis Corbière takes his revenge. The one who was not invested by the New Popular Front in the 7th constituency of Seine-Saint-Denis presented himself as a dissident candidate. He obtained 40.19% of the votes against 36.38% for the rebellious Sabrina Ali-Benali.

At the National Rally

Marine Le Pen announced, shortly after 8 p.m., that she had been elected in the first round of voting. The president of the RN group in the Assembly was in the favorite position in the 11th constituency of Pas-de-Calais, where she had largely won the second round of the 2022 legislative elections against Marine Tondelier, current leader of the Ecologists. Marine Le Pen this time obtained 58.04% of the vote.

His sister, Marie-Caroline Le Penwas running in the 4th constituency of Sarthe. She obtained 39.26% of the votes and came ahead of the outgoing MP Elise Leboucher (New Popular Front-LFI), second with 25.94% of the votes, and the Ensemble candidate, Sylvie Casenave-Péré (25.88%). These three candidates qualified for the second round.

Sebastien Chenu was also re-elected in the first round of the legislative elections. The outgoing MP received 58.35% of the votes in his constituency in the North.

Among the Republicans

In Haute-Loire, Laurent Wauquiez came first in the first constituency, with 36.80% of the votes. The president of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is narrowly ahead of the candidate of the National Rally, Alexandre Heuzey, who obtains 34.18% of the votes. Céline Gacon, environmentalist candidate of the New Popular Front, received 18.66% of the votes and can therefore remain for the second round.

The outgoing MP for the first constituency of Lot, Aurélien Pradiequalified for the second round with 42.25% of the vote. The candidate of the New Popular Front, the rebellious Elsa Bougeard (24.33%), and that of the National Rally, Savka Mihaylova (23.06%), can remain for the second round.
