François Busnel leaves the presentation of La Grande Librairie: his replacement mentioned

A big page turns to Francois Busnel. The end of a story that lasted no less than fourteen years. During an interview for The Parisianthe 53-year-old journalist revealed that he would soon no longer be at the helm of The Great Bookstorea program he launched on France 5 in 2008.

The Great Bookstore quickly became a must-have program. The program dedicated to books will also celebrate its 500th on July 6. And unfortunately for viewers, this will be the last time they will see François Busnel at the controls. He has indeed made the decision to no longer animate the program he created. But, as he quickly pointed out to Parisianit will always play an important role: “I remain producer of this show that I created and that I love deeply : every Wednesday evening, I will be in control. I’m not giving up on the baby. I’m just changing positions: I’ll be on the other side of the screen.

François Busnel quickly explained that at 53 he wanted to take up new challenges such as “make movies and series, write and shoot documentaries, produce new talents“.”I am basically a nomad. I love my job, but I love adventure and rolling the dice even more. I want to renew myself, to reinvent myself“, specified the companion of Delphine de Vigan. A choice which was not difficult to make. For fourteen years, I have been inviting people every week who wonder about how to live better through literature, about what freedom means. It infused me. At some point, you have to know how to follow your dreams. (…) During the tour that accompanied the theatrical release of my first film, Only the Earth is Eternal, (with Jim Harrison) in the spring, I discovered that I had really enjoyed directing and that I had want to continue“, he confided when asked what had been the trigger.

For now, François Busnel does not yet know who will succeed him. But he assures that the people envisaged are from “very good quality“and that he admires them.”The person who will succeed me will be, as I have been, in empathy, greed, passion and transmission. You know, in my life I was lucky enough to meet people like Jacques Chancel or Philippe Labro who held out their hand to me and encouraged me to do radio and television: I will, in my turn , give a hand. You have to know how to give back what you have received“, he concluded.
