François Braun plans to open the prescription of electronic cigarettes used as nicotine substitutes to pharmacists

These prescriptions will exclude puffs, these disposable electronic cigarettes, which do not allow “in any way to get out of smoking”, estimates the Minister of Health.

The Minister of Health reiterates his desire to ban puffs, these disposable electronic cigarettes popular with young people. These do not allow “nothing (…) to quit smoking”, argued François Braun, Sunday, May 28, on RTL, while deputies hope to have this ban passed at the start of the school year. However, the emergency doctor said he was considering opening the prescription of electronic cigarettes used as nicotine substitutes to pharmacists.

This prescription will thus exclude puffs, “these colorful products” Who “lead young people to tobacco” according to him. It will only concern the “Nicotine substitutes with [des] Electronic cigarettes”who, they, “allow you to gradually reduce your nicotine consumption and stop”.

Asked about a possible refund, François Braun replied that the subject was “on the table as part of the next anti-tobacco plan” of the government, planned for the period 2023-2028. He also said he wanted to tax “all tobacco products, such as heated or chewing tobacco, in the same way” than the pack of cigarettes.
