It is with great sadness that I learned of the departure of author François Blais.
I wrongly believed that the abundant work of Grand-Mérois would continue to grow indefinitely, similar to the interminable digressions characteristic of his novels.
His controlled style and his great erudition were paradoxically used to describe the trivial and the everyday. However, under this apparent banality pierced a great sensitivity, as well as a unique sense of humor.
His inimitable voice will be greatly missed.
