The president of MoDem and mayor of Pau (Pyrénées-Atlantiques), François Bayrou, whose party is a member of the presidential majority, threatens behind the scenes to present his own list in the European elections in June, “unhappy” of the composition of the new government, franceinfo learned on Thursday January 11 from parliamentary sources.

François Bayrou is particularly unhappy with a government leaning too far to the right, according to him. Among the new government team, eight ministers or delegate ministers trained on the right.

Even before the appointment of Gabriel Attal as Prime Minister, François Bayrou, who is also High Commissioner for Planning, had also informed the Parisian of its “questions” on “the necessary experience” for the choice of Elisabeth Borne’s successor.
