On November 8, Franck Dubosc will be showing in TF1’s new TV movie The last part which deals with conflicting relationships between a father and his son. In full promotion of this new project in which he collaborates with Guy Marchand and Macha Méril, the comedian delivered on the tense and complicated relationship that he had been able to maintain with his dad Lucien with the journalists of Star TV.
He explains : “The gap widened when I became famous and started making a lot more money than him. I had access to things he had never been able to offer me. He certainly felt humiliated.“In addition, his dad apparently believed that his son tended to deny his family, especially his humble origins.”My father, from a humble background, was convinced that I was ashamed of him. Which was not the case. I was proud of the person he was. But it is true that, as a teenager, I felt embarrassed by my social origins“, says Danièle’s husband.
Lucien died of Charcot’s disease in 2002, yet still felt a great deal of admiration and affection for his son. This is what Franck discovered after his death while chatting with friends of his father. Moved, he says: “I learned much later, from relatives, that he was constantly talking about me.“
Wishing to pay tribute to his late daddy, the actor – who recently lost his mom – made a moving reference to him in the TV movie The last part playing an actual anecdote that he experienced in the past with this one. Touched, he says: “During the scene of the last game of scrabble, the atmosphere was special because everyone knew that it had really taken place between my father and me …“A sublime gift for her missing dad.
