Every day, the news is analyzed for children in franceinfo junior. This Tuesday, we look back at a special space episode… Two astronauts, Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams, are stuck in the International Space Station until February 2025.
To answer children’s questions, the show invites Olivier Sanguy, head of space news at the Cité de l’Espace in Toulouse.
To begin, Mya, 10 years old, asks herself “how they got stuck in space”.
Alix, 9, wants to know how long their initial mission was supposed to last. “Do they know they’re going to stay until February?” she continues.
Mya has an idea to come to their rescue: “I wanted to know if they could send them a rocket? Thomas Pesquet could go into space to join them and save them.”
Alix and Mya wonder about their living conditions in the Station: “Do they have enough to eat, water? To sleep? If they still have oxygen?”
